Find your future with us.Role Overview: Intramotev is seeking a motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join the development team to meet growing demands in the development of self-propelled rail vehicles. This role focuses on designing and implementing advanced electrical architectures, specifically targeting high-voltage propulsion and robust vehicle networking. As a senior member of the team, you will bridge the gap between initial requirements and fully integrated, safety-critical vehicle systems. This position is based out of St. Louis, MO and is a full-time, 100% in-office position.Key Responsibilities:Design & Architecture: Translate complex system requirements into robust electrical architectures, including high-voltage battery integration and power distribution systems.Vehicle Networking: Lead the design and implementation of vehicle communication networks, with a heavy emphasis on CAN bus architecture and protocol management.System Development: Design and develop electrical controllers and motor control systems for autonomous battery-electric platforms.Testing & Validation: Direct efforts to test and validate electrical system performance, including EMI/EMC compliance and high-voltage safety protocols.Supplier Coordination: Support supplier development and production activities to optimize component design for battery and motor systems.Lifecycle Support: Address and resolve issues related to fielded systems, providing comprehensive support throughout the product lifecycle.Innovation & Research: Stay abreast of technological advancements in EV powertrains and recommend technology investments to enhance our solutions.Team Dynamics:Work within dynamic teams of 3-10 members on diverse projects.Foster excellent interpersonal and communication skills to thrive in a collaborative environment.Adapt to evolving project objectives and requirements.Engage in occasional domestic travel to support integration, demonstration, and customer interactions.Why Join Us?Career Growth: Develop your career with a forward-thinking company dedicated to transforming rail technology.Innovative Environment: Contribute to groundbreaking projects that bridge the past and future of rail transport.Impactful Work: Be a key player in creating solutions that promote a more sustainable and efficient rail network.About You: Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.5-8 years of experience in electrical system design for vehicles or heavy industrial equipment.Demonstrated experience with high-voltage systems and battery management integration.Proficiency in vehicle networking and communication protocols, specifically CAN bus.Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise; ability to develop innovative and novel approaches.Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment as an individual contributor and technical leader.Fluent in both written and verbal English.U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided).Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:Experience in the Rail, Electric Vehicle (EV), or Unmanned Systems industries.Familiarity with electromagnetic interference (EMI) mitigation and shielding in vehicle environments.Experience with software-defined vehicle controls (C++, Python, or MATLAB/Simulink).Experience working across organizational boundaries and collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.Typical Education and Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor and/or Master) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience.Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.Equal Opportunity Employer: Intramotev is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
