Assembler III
Job Details
We are seeking an Assembler III to perform optical and mechanical assembly of high complexity under minimal supervision. This role involves fitting, alignment, and adjustment of components, units, and assemblies to very close tolerances. You will work with advanced optical systems and precision components, contributing to the success of critical defense programs.
Responsibilities
- Clean and assemble optical parts, mechanical subassemblies, and large assemblies of high complexity
- Use hand tools to perform a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, and measurement product assembly operations
- Determine and/or follow methods and sequence of operations for wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing, and fitting on assembly units
- Perform soldering on various parts as required by assembly instructions
- Prime and bond optical surfaces to other optical or mechanical components
- Read detailed, complex blueprints, assembly sketches, and procedures with minimal supervision
- Fit or adjust parts or assemblies within established guidelines
- Inspect and test finished items or assemblies
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in similar assembly operations
- High level of manual dexterity and ability to use a wide variety of hand tools
- Knowledge of soldering techniques; soldering certification required
- Experience with optical handling, inspection, and gluing highly desired
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and quality standards
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
For California, the hourly base pay range for this role is $19.93 - $34.08
