Job Summary
CIMT College is looking for someone to teach the Renovation and Construction Technician program. This program is registered with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. The successful candidate would be required to follow CIMT College’s policies and procedures.Courseware, resources, evaluations, and daily lesson plans are provided in an Instructor Manual. The Instructor is responsible for following the provided instructor manuals and using the resource materials to train students with the required knowledge and skills to prepare them for employment in the field.CIMT College places a premium on professional conduct, combined with excellence in classroom instruction, with primary emphasis on hands-on training.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the fieldInstruct curriculum using only pre-authorized and provided materialsTeach students using a diverse and systematic plan of lectures, presentations, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory work, case studies, independent or group projectsEmploy appropriate adult teaching and learning strategies to communicate the subject matter to diverse studentsAdminister and marks quizzes, assignments, exams and/or other assessments to monitor and evaluate students’ progress according to guidelines and proceduresEvaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return student marks promptlyProvide feedback on student performanceArrange feedback from students on the instructor, content, and facility at the end of each courseDemonstrate sensitivity to student needs and individual circumstances in a multi-cultural environmentResolve student complaints and concerns with a positive and professional attitudeMaintain attendance records accuratelyAssure that classrooms are left in a clean and orderly fashion at end of class without loss of or damage to equipment or other resourcesProvide support to the admissions team with potential students who have questions about the program or future careerParticipate in scheduled meetings and annual events like graduationMaintain confidentiality of student privacy and informationStay current in the subject matter through professional developmentDisplay an attitude of teamwork and problem solvingPerform other related duties as required

QualificationsHave 48 months of work experience in the vocation
ORHave 36 months of teaching experience in the vocation and 24 months of work experience in the vocation

AND o Hold a Bachelor degree from a Canadian university or an equivalent degree o Graduate of a College of Applied Arts and Technology or equivalent o Graduate of a registered OCC or equivalentMeet Instructor qualification standards as outlined in the Regulations to Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005Must be available to teach In campus as per the accepted schedule
