As a Mechanic Level II- You will work in conjunction with other mechanics to complete preventative maintenance and repairs on the company forklifts. This to be completed in a timely and efficient manner, by diagnosing problems found during inspections prescribing the correct remedial action. The Apprentice Mechanic Level II is to maintain its functionality at a high standard.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for loading and unloading all material handling equipment
Responsible for signing in all new equipment into PRO.
Constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components
Identifies parts for replacement and machines that need new parts and places orders as necessary.
Transfer tools, parts, equipment, and supplies to and from work stations and other areas
Disassemble broken or defective equipment for repair
Install or replace machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts
Hold or supply tools, parts, equipment, and supplies for other workers
Adjust, maintain, and repair tools, equipment, and machines, and assist more skilled workers with similar tasks
Other duties as assigned by management
Skills and Specification
Ability to approach each work assignment and client interaction in an energetic, enthusiastic manner and act with urgency
3-5 years working experience of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Knowledge of operational parts for material handling equipment
Experience in Electrical, Hydraulic, Gas, Liquid Propane, and Diesel Engine preferred
Excellent communication abilities-Verbal and Written
Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking, standing, stooping, bending and lifting to 90 pounds
Frequent exposure to the elements
