Location- Dade City, FL
General Description
The Dentist provides comprehensive primary and preventive dental care to children and families in a community health center setting. This role focuses on delivering high-quality pediatric and general dental services, including examinations, diagnosis, treatment, counseling, and age-appropriate patient education.
The Dentist plays a vital role in improving oral health outcomes for pediatric patients while supporting Premier Community HealthCare Group’s mission to provide accessible, compassionate, and patient-centered care to diverse communities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide dental care to children, adolescents, and family medicine patients in accordance with best practices
• Perform comprehensive oral examinations, including diagnosis and interpretation of radiographs
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with a child-friendly, trauma-informed approach
• Deliver clinical dental services including restorative care, extractions, sealants, fluoride treatments, nitrous oxide administration, and preventive care
• Educate children and caregivers on oral hygiene, preventive care, nutrition, and treatment options
• Create a positive, supportive experience for pediatric patients and their families
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
• Follow all dental clinic policies, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines
• Collaborate with dental assistants, hygienists, and care team members to support efficient patient flow
• Support community outreach, school-based programs, and pediatric oral health initiatives
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance
• Uphold Premier’s core values and commitment to quality, compassionate care
• Participate in Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI/QA) activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from an accredited dental program
• Active Florida dental license
• Experience providing dental care to pediatric patients strongly preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• DEA license preferred or ability to obtain
• Ability to obtain and maintain Epic certification and annual compliance requirements
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift 20 lbs. regularly and 30–50 lbs. occasionally
• Ability to sit for extended periods
• Direct exposure to computer screens and clinical environments
• Possible exposure to contagious or infectious diseases
Background Screening Requirement:
This position requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
