What You’ll Do:
- Provide comprehensive nutrition assessment, evidence-based medical nutrition therapy, and counsel clients on a highly effective treatment plan post-bariatric surgery and for patients in the non-surgical weight management program.
- Meet frequently with patients: post-op bariatric surgery with appointments focused on dietary education and behavior modification, as well as laboratory result review of micronutrient deficiencies
- Meet frequently with medication assisted weight loss patients to analyze their food intake, provide encouragement, guidance, and focus on dietary modifications to meet their weight loss goals
- Perform medical nutrition therapy (nutrition assessment, evaluation, and counseling) based on individual client needs and concerns. Promote client empowerment and accountability. Provide meal planning as necessary
- Provide education on behavioral modifications, discuss dietary supplementation, and effectively communicate/coordinate with the medical weight management provider, and ancillary staff of the non-surgical weight management program on patient care
- Analyze patients’ health status, goals, and dietary restrictions, track clients’ dietary intake and progress and educate patients on how to maintain a balanced diet
- Demonstrate proficiency with intuitive eating principles and apply them in situations when clients demonstrate disordered eating behaviors
Maintain professional credentials and/or continuing education hours required for the position and for professional and personal growth
What We’re Looking For:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics
- Registered Dietician status with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- 1 to 3 years of experience as an out-patient Dietician
- Registered Dietician and Licensed Dietician in the State of NH
- Knowledge of food science, nutrition, food service, medicine, and human pathology
- Ability to integrate food and nutrition with other disciplines in the practice setting
- Knowledge and skill in providing systematic nutrition care, including screening, assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation and documentation
- Ability to promote effective professional relationships in the practice of nutrition, dietetics, healthcare and community service
Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
