Credentialing/Accounting Assistant
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Patient Financial Services, this position is responsible for assisting the Credentialing Specialist with the insurance credentialing of all employed and MSO contracted providers and management of insurance enrollment processes. Assists the MMA Accounting Assistant with the daily bank bags received from offices and the tracking and balancing of daily deposits. Strives for superior performance by consistently providing a product or service to leadership and staff that is recognized as ultimately contributing to the patient and family experience. Recognizes and demonstrates understanding of patient and family centered care.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Credentialing Specialist in the following areas:
- Provider Initial Enrollment/follow-up
- Maintaining CAQH profiles of employed providers
- Creation/Maintaining NPI profiles
- Initial Payer enrollment
- Assist the Accounting Assistant with daily deposit and bank bag processes
- Provide coverage for both the Credentialing Specialist and the Accounting Assistant during scheduled or unscheduled time off.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and supports hospital mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality statements, corporate compliance plan, customer service standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
DEPARTMENTAL AND ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of provider credentialing information.
- Develop and implement any policies and/or procedures necessary for the successful implementation and on-going support of provider credentialing.
- Ensure accurate deposit information.
- Any addition responsibilities as requested or assigned by the Manager of Patient Financial Services or the Director of Revenue Cycle.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to all Memorial Healthcare data and information as dictated by hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
- Access Memorial Healthcare systems and information only as necessary to perform job duties.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Course work in accounting, typing, math and English is required.
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of two years of medical office related experience is desired.
- Two years of Credentialing knowledge is desired.
- Two years of accounting knowledge is desired.
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL ABILITIES

- Proficiency using modern office, computer and telephone equipment as used by Memorial Healthcare.
