About the Role
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Generalist to serve as a vital HR partner to our Clinical and Clinical Operations teams. This role is essential for ensuring a seamless, compliant, and supportive employee experience for our virtual care clinicians and clinical functions. You will be responsible for executing or partnering on all HR administration and practical HR processes, including payroll, recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, training, and benefits administration, all while upholding a high standard of accuracy, compliance and confidentiality within the healthcare regulatory environment.
What You'll Do
As the Human Resources Generalist supporting our clinical operations, you will manage critical functions across the entire employee lifecycle. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Administrative & System Support: Maintain and manage the HRIS for data integrity. Manage employee file maintenance and execute all required HR administrative tasks.
- Payroll & Benefits Administration: Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time using Rippling. Manage the benefits administration process, including enrollment, changes, and serving as the primary liaison for benefits and 401(k) providers.
- Employee Lifecycle Management: Manage the full employee lifecycle for clinical staff, including drafting and administering offers, agreements, employment contracts, and termination documentation. Lead comprehensive onboarding and offboarding processes, partnering with IT to ensure all clinical staff have necessary system access and compliance training before Day One.
- Clinical Recruitment Support: Support clinical recruitment efforts by assisting hiring managers with job postings, candidate correspondence, and ensuring timely offers are extended for clinical roles.
- Compliance Support: Maintain accurate and confidential employee data, with a specific focus on tracking required training documentation. Ensure all HR processes adhere to HIPAA and relevant state and federal labor laws.
- Employee Relations & Support: Act as the first point of contact for employee questions related to HR policies, payroll, and benefits, ensuring prompt and empathetic resolution.
- Training & Development: Coordinate and track internal training programs, particularly mandatory compliance and clinical operations training for staff.
Why You Might Be a Good Fit
- You possess a dedication to customer service and thrive on providing timely, accurate support to busy clinical teams.
- You have a meticulous attention to detail, which is crucial for managing semi-monthly payroll, benefits, and confidential compliance documentation.
- You are comfortable managing high-volume administrative tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment where efficiency and accuracy are paramount.
- You have experience in the healthcare sector and understand the unique administrative and regulatory needs of clinical operations.
- You are a proactive communicator, able to translate complex HR policies and benefit information into clear, actionable advice for a diverse workforce.
This Might Not Be The Right Fit If...
- You are looking for a role focused primarily on strategic HR functions like compensation design or talent acquisition, rather than hands-on administration and compliance.
- You lack experience working within a healthcare or clinical environment where strict data security (HIPAA) is the standard.
- You are not comfortable with the pressure and precision required for payroll processing (semi-monthly) and managing high-volume clinical documentation.
- You prefer a slow-paced environment with predictable tasks rather than one that requires constant prioritization and responsiveness.
Your Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Coordinator, with a clear focus on administrative HR functions supporting HR for clinicians and clinical operations functions in a virtual care company.
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end payroll processing and benefits administration using Rippling HRIS/Payroll.
- Experience owning or driving employee lifecycle from onboarding to onboarding within a remote organization.
- Demonstrated success implementing HR best practices in a healthcare, remote, and/or multi-state environment.
- A solid understanding of US labor laws, employment regulations, and HIPAA compliance.
- Proficiency with HRIS and applicant tracking systems.
- Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
Bonus Points
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
- Experience building or maintaining internal training programs.
