Position Summary:
The Medical Practice Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring qualified healthcare professionals and administrative staff to support the operations of the medical practice. This role ensures the organization attracts and retains high-quality talent that aligns with the practice’s values, mission, and patient care standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment & Staffing
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies for clinical and non-clinical positions (e.g., physicians, nurses, medical assistants, therapists, and administrative staff).
- Create and post job descriptions on various platforms, including job boards, professional associations, and social media.
- Screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, and coordinate candidate interviews with department leaders.
- Maintain applicant tracking system and ensure compliance with hiring documentation requirements.
- Coordinate background checks, reference verifications, and credentialing processes.
2. Talent Sourcing & Outreach
- Build and maintain relationships with medical schools, nursing programs, and professional networks to attract top talent.
- Attend job fairs, career expos, and community events to promote the organization.
- Develop a pipeline of qualified candidates for future openings.
3. Onboarding & Retention
- Partner with HR and department managers to ensure smooth onboarding of new hires.
- Assist with new hire orientation and employee engagement initiatives.
- Monitor turnover trends and recommend retention strategies.
4. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure all hiring practices comply with federal and state laws.
- Prepare and maintain recruitment metrics and reports to evaluate hiring effectiveness and timelines.
- Collaborate with HR to maintain compliance with credentialing and licensure requirements for clinical staff.
Requirements:
Education:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (required).
- Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP) preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of recruitment experience; prior healthcare or medical practice recruitment preferred.
- Familiarity with healthcare staffing, credentialing, and licensure processes is strongly desired.
- Experience using an Applicant Tracking System and HRIS software.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and best hiring practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple requisitions and deadlines effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and online recruiting tools (LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.).
- Professional, patient-focused, and service-oriented approach.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based, with occasional travel to job fairs.
- Fast-paced healthcare environment requires confidentiality, professionalism, and flexibility.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional lifting of recruitment materials or office supplies (up to 20 lbs).
