Who You Are:
We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Life Enrichment Specialist in Assisted Living & Memory Care. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to maintain relationships with staff and residents. Responsibilities:
- Plans, coordinates, and directs a broad scope of social and recreational programs, to include MIL programming.
- Develops a monthly life enrichment calendar that meets residents’ needs and Friendship Village's expectations. This calendar includes programming time for one-on-one sessions with residents who cannot participate in a group setting.Facilitates and encourages family involvement with residents.
- Assists the ALMC Life Enrichment Director in developing a Life Enrichment program for Memory Care and the Bridge Neighborhood.
- Evaluates and assists in developing individual resident care plans with the Resident Care Director and other disciplines.
- Assists in orienting new residents to the facility, helping to ensure satisfactory integration into the facility.Interacts with Sales and Marketing to ensure a smooth transition.
- Shares in the responsibility for providing and maintaining an environment that is conducive to the safety, physical, and emotional well-being of residents and staff
Job Requirements:
- Degree in recreational therapy and/or activity director certification preferred or high school education with experience in geriatrics, recreation or social administration.
- Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relations skills and be capable of relating to a variety of people and personalities.Considerable initiative, judgment and leadership skills are also required.
- Two years of professional experience in geriatrics, recreation, or social administration.
- Demonstrates an appreciation of the heritage, values, and wisdom of the residents and an understanding of the aging process.
- Demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in working around confidential or sensitive materials or conversations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment that promotes inclusiveness and communication among team members
