Become a Tutor for iEducate!
iEducate is seeking college students to serve as tutors in local K-5th grade literacy, math, science, and bilingual classrooms. You will be supporting teachers and students during the school day by working on the curriculum with the students and tracking student progress throughout the school year. Your impact extends beyond academics to empower and inspire the next generation of students to reach their full potential in the classroom and beyond.
Responsibilities include:
- Host 1-on-1 or small-group sessions with students to re-teach skills they didn't grasp the first time around in whole-group, and/or support a small group of students during the lesson cycle in the classroom.
- Prepare to effectively support students by reviewing and internalizing lesson materials in advance, ensuring you are ready to teach the content in an engaging and effective way.
- Build collaborative relationships with school staff to enhance your support of assigned students by:
- Collaborating with school stakeholders, demonstrating high levels of professionalism and competence.
- If shift times allow, participating in common planning periods with coordinator or partner teachers (e.g., PLCs, grade level team meetings etc.).
- Serve as a role model for students by building strong relationships with them, helping them better connect with their learning.
- Submit all required tutor surveys & documentation, including but not limited to:
- Daily Data Trackers (DDTs) that track student tutoring dosage and objective mastery.
- End-of-Semester Evaluation Surveys that provide feedback to iEducate on the tutor experience & impact.
- Semesterly Tutor Interest Survey (TIS) that informs iEducate of work availability, desired scheduling preferences, and contact/demographic information.
- Other duties and responsibilities as requested.
To qualify, you must:
- Be authorized and eligible to work in the US.
- Be a currently enrolled college student with a 2.5+ GPA.
- Have reliable transportation.
- Have availability to work 3+ days per week (7:30AM-2:30PM) during the school day (preferred but not required).
- While performing the duties of this job, the Tutor may regularly be required to stand and reach with hands and arms; walk; sit; stoop or kneel; crouch or crawl. Duties may involve attending to students' physical or sanitation/hygiene needs.

Please note that, if hired, school placement in any given semester for a tutor is not guaranteed. School placement is dependent on a tutors availability & placement preferences matching the needs of an existing partner elementary school.
