Position Summary
The Managing Director is the operational leader who partners closely with the Executive Pastor and Senior Pastor to translate the church's vision and strategy into effective, day-to-day operations. This role focuses on the administration, execution, and coordination of programs to ensure the seamless delivery of church services and initiatives, as well as the stewardship and effective allocation of resources. With a growth mindset and a proven ability to scale increasingly complex plans with poise, the Managing Director brings clarity and structure to complex situations. This servant-leader articulates complex matters in simple terms to activate staff and stakeholders. Leading by influence, the Managing Director prepares and guides the church through its next stage of growth, fostering collaboration and operational excellence that enables ministries to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Administration
- Oversee and manage the church's daily operations, ensuring all ministries and programs function efficiently and effectively.
- Develop, implement, and maintain operational policies, procedures, and best practices that support ministry goals.
- Supervise administrative staff and volunteers, providing leadership, training, and support to maximize effectiveness.
- Coordinate logistics for worship services (multi-site in 2027), special events, classes, and outreach programs to ensure smooth execution.
- Oversee facilities management, office operations, vendor relations, and resource allocation.
Program Coordination & Execution
- Partner with ministry leaders to operationalize and deliver church programs and initiatives aligned with the church's vision and mission.
- Collaborate with staff to establish annual goals, track program progress, assess outcomes, and suggest improvements to optimize impact and efficiency.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration across ministries, staff, and volunteers to ensure alignment and shared goals.
- Support onboarding, training, and development of staff and volunteers involved in program delivery.
Financial & Resource Stewardship
- Prepare and manage budgets, including forecasts, variance analysis, and expense monitoring for operational/program areas for review by senior leadership, the Session, and the Financial Oversight Committee (FOC).
- Ensure responsible stewardship and effective allocation of church resources, including facilities, equipment, and supplies, to maximize their impact.
- Manage facility usage, rentals, and maintenance in coordination with appropriate teams and stakeholders.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a vital liaison among the Executive Pastor, Senior Pastor, ministry leaders, staff, volunteers, and external partners.
- Ensure clear, timely communication regarding operational matters, program schedules, and church-wide initiatives.
- Proactively identify potential challenges, resolve issues early, and keep church leadership well-informed.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in operations, administration, or program management, preferably in a business or church environment.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams, projects, and complex logistics.
- Experience working in multi-ethnic and diverse settings is preferred.

- Proven ability to bring clarity and structure to complex situations, operationalize vision and strategy into scalable plans, and manage multiple priorities as complexity increases.
- Technologically proficient, leveraging office and project management software, automation, and AI tools while managing risk pragmatically.
- Deeply aligned with the church's mission, values, and theological convictions, embodying the church's commitment to being known, loved, and cared for.
- Adaptable, proactive, and solutions-oriented, with a strong work ethic, passion for excellence, and high emotional intelligence (EQ).
- Committed Christian with a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ; if married, in a thriving marriage with a supportive spouse.
