Why we need you
Springboard Collaborative invites talented and passionate current employees of NYC Public Schools to apply for the part-time position of Cluster Leader. The Cluster Leader will be responsible for overseeing and supporting literacy programming at up to 5 NYCPS sites and will play a pivotal role in coaching program leaders and teachers, partnering with family members, and driving student reading growth.
This is a fixed-term, part-time position involving up to 75 hours of work per season for two seasons. Our winter season will run from January 12 to March 6, 2026, and our spring season will run from March 16 to May 15, 2026. Our programs will run 3 days per week, 60 minutes per day. Cluster Leaders will also participate in ~5 hours of professional development and other ad-hoc meetings in November and December 2025 to prepare for the role.

Here are your responsibilities:
Support programming
- Serve as liaison between Springboard Collaborative, building administration, Springboard staff, enrichment staff, and participating students and families
- Ensure adherence to daily programming schedule
- Monitor crucial programmatic data, setting high expectations for teachers to do the same
- Cultivate a positive and achievement-driven culture centered around student reading growth, family collaboration, and program fidelity
Coach and manage teachers
- Support Program Leaders in achieving their personal-professional goals
- Lead weekly program implementation/coaching meetings with direct reports
- Support weekly Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings to prepare leaders and teachers for family workshops, high-quality instruction and data analysis
- Observe instruction and Family Workshops–provide regular feedback to leaders and teachers
- Participate in regular city leadership meetings with Program Director
- Co-facilitate bi-weekly CityWide meetings
Build partnerships with family members
- Support enrollment and team huddles to achieve 100% completion
- Support outreach for family workshops and other family engagement events and support make-up workshops as necessary
Utilize data to meet performance metrics
- Review key data points, such as student attendance, family workshop attendance, assessment data, family survey data, and other relevant metrics
- Participate in weekly meetings with a Springboard Program Director, utilizing data to inform and drive effective next steps
Additional responsibilities
- Maintain regular communication with school leaders, assisting in planning and scheduling meetings with administrators
- Respond to unforeseen needs and challenges

What we offer you
Compensation
This role will receive hourly compensation of $65/hour.
Location and travel
This role will be a hybrid role involving both virtual coaching and in-person on-site work at the NYCPS schools in your assigned cluster. It is the expectation that each school in your cluster receives virtual or in-person coaching support 1 day/week. Each school in your cluster must receive in-person on-site coaching at least twice over the course of each 8-week programming session.
Springboard requires in-person employees at a Springboard facility or participating in in-person programming or events to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless a medical or religious exemption is approved. Being fully vaccinated means an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of a CDC-authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. As a condition of employment, newly hired employees may be asked to provide their COVID-19 vaccination status and proof of vaccination, as required.
