Position Summary:
The Site Director provides executive leadership and oversight of the Tamarac Family Non-Congregate Shelter, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed, and equitable services for families experiencing homelessness. This position leads all site operations in accordance with HOST Shelter Standards, City and County of Denver contract requirements, and Bayaud Works policies. The Site Director supervises Program Managers, Facility and Operations leadership, and other supervisory staff, while serving as the primary liaison with HOST, community partners, and Bayaud Works executive leadership.

Mission of Role/Position Summary
Bayaud Works provides critical services and expertise in short- and long-term homeless sheltering, non-congregate and congregate emergency sheltering, and workforce support services. General Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

- Provide executive-level oversight of all daily shelter operations and programming to ensure effective service delivery and contractual compliance.
- Supervise and support Program Managers, Facilities and Operations leadership, Housing Navigators, and all site-level supervisors.
- Implement and enforce policies, procedures, and HOST Shelter Standards for safety, sanitation, guest services, and housing stability.
- Ensure coordinated and equitable shelter access, intake, and referral in collaboration with the Connection Center and HOST Access Teams.
- Oversee case management, school engagement, and supportive service functions to maintain a housing-focused approach.
- Develop and maintain a professional, trauma-informed, and inclusive workplace culture that supports staff wellness and retention.
- Provide leadership in performance management, HR-related matters, and staff development, including training and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Monitor fiscal management including payroll allocation, expense reporting, and budget compliance in coordination with Bayaud Works leadership.
- Ensure accurate data collection, reporting, and documentation through HMIS and other systems in alignment with HOST requirements.
- Analyze operational performance, prepare reports, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and program outcomes.
- Coordinate and collaborate with HOST officials, partner agencies, and city departments to ensure compliance, communication, and service coordination.
- Represent the organization in meetings, community events, trainings, and official city functions related to shelter operations and homelessness resolution.
- Respond to site emergencies and incidents, ensuring guest and staff safety, appropriate documentation, and debriefing procedures.
- Foster interdepartmental collaboration and uphold Bayaud Works' values of equity, respect, accountability, and compassion.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of family homelessness systems, shelter operations, and housing-focused service models.
- Strong leadership, team development, and organizational management skills.
- Experience with contract compliance, audits, and financial accountability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and interagency collaboration.
- Ability to mediate conflicts, handle crises with composure, and lead through complex challenges.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed practices in all service delivery and team management.
- Proficiency with HMIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and data management tools.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Site Director directly supervises Program Managers, Facility Directors, and other site-level leadership positions. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent adherence to Bayaud Works policies, HOST contract standards, and performance expectations across all departments.
Expected Hours of Work:
40 hours per week, evenings/weekends as required, dependability and punctuality are required.
Physical Demands:
- Primarily office-based with regular presence required at the Tamarac site and other facilities as needed.
- Must be able to manage high-pressure environments and competing priorities.
- May occasionally be exposed to adverse weather conditions or shelter environments during inspections or emergencies.

Bayaud Works is a subsidiary of AC Disaster Consulting. Our Temporary Staffing Service partners with Federal, State, City, County, and private employers to provide high-quality staffing and operational support. Bayaud Works was created to provide opportunities for individuals with barriers to employment and has since expanded to include shelter management, safety patrol, janitorial services, and transportation operations.
Experience and Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Nonprofit Management, or related field required; Master's preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in shelter, housing, or human services programs.
- 2 Years experience supervising managers or multi-department program teams.
- Demonstrated success in contract management, data reporting, and compliance oversight.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project management, crisis intervention, or relevant certifications preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass a background check for work with vulnerable populations.
- Valid driver's license required; must meet Bayaud Works' motor vehicle insurance standards if driving for work.
