Customer Service Specialist
This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, problem solving, one call account resolution and respectful, compassionate and caring patient interactions. Maintains knowledge of hospital managed care contracts, state and federal guidelines, and departmental policies and procedures. Maintains accurate documentation for daily interaction of accounts worked and resolved. Responsible for protecting all health information and following all compliance and behavior policies and procedures. Responsible for accurate posting of all payment, adjustment, discount, and denial information in a timely manner. Responsible for coordinating patient walk ins, notifying appropriate staff members, and ensuring timeliness of responses. Responsible for building security protecting unauthorized entry into employee only access areas. Performs other duties as assigned.

- Excellent communication skills to effectively and tactfully communicate with patients and their families and guests, co-workers, managers, providers and other hospital personnel on a one-to-one basis using appropriate grammar, vocabulary and word usage presenting a professional image as a representative of Marion General Hospital.
- Ability to negotiate effective working relationships and develop positive resolution to conflict.
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to carry out duties in a professional manner, as well as the ability to work well under stress.
