Job Summary:
The Part-time Pharmacist fills prescriptions and coordinates pharmacy activities for patients seeking medication through the center pharmacy. The Pharmacist is responsible for the maintenance of accurate prescription records, inventory control, and assistance in the daily conduct of pharmacy activities.
Requirements:
Task Responsibilities & Competencies:
*Include but are not limited to:
· Pharmacist will ensure that the pharmacy is operating in accordance with all applicable laws and pharmacy regulations/rules.
· Advise healthcare workers on the selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects of medications to treat health problems.
· Accepts and reviews prescriptions for accuracy and completeness.
· Packages and dispenses medications as prescribed
· Counsels’ patients regarding compliance, side effects and possible interaction with other medication
· Communicates to providers with all possible drug interactions or dosage problems for individual patients.
· Provides education, guidance and training to students, pharmacy staff, interns, and or trainees during course of work and monitors performance.
· Labels all medication according to protocol before dispensing to patients.
· Monitors and maintains designated inventories of medications
· Assures the timely disposition and documentation of expired medications
· Maintains logs and inventories on all medications.
· Ensures security of all medications using established policies and procedures
· Complies with all 340B policies and procedures
· Assures accountability of daily financial reconciliation
· Experiencing using ComputerRx, preferred but not required
Minimum Education and Experience:
Required:
· Pharmacy degree (PharmD) from an accredited School of Pharmacy
· At least 5 years’ experience as a pharmacist in either a hospital or a retail pharmacy
· Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Ohio in good standing with both a Pharmacy Registration and Controlled Substance License
Technology Requirements:
Basic understanding and familiarity with the following:
· EPIC
· HBS
· RX30
· Basic Computer Knowledge
