Job Summary:
Maintenance Technicians will troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain valves, well heads, gas lines, and well extensions in the landfill field. The Maintenance Technician position requires a strong work ethic and resilience to perform in demanding field conditions, including exposure to odors, extreme temperatures, and rugged terrain in and around the landfill.
Responsibilities involve working on uneven or sloped surfaces, performing trench work, and extending wells. This is a physically intensive and often dirty job, and candidates must be comfortable working in challenging outdoor environments. All duties performed must follow safety guidelines and have a safety-first mindset. Flexibility is essential, as this role, in addition to the standard shift, will be on-call and may require responding to unexpected issues, and handling emergency situations critical to field operations.
**You must live within 45 minutes of assigned site/area to be considered for this position.**
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to established field maintenance procedures and design standards.
- Perform HDPE welding using proper techniques.
- Install well pumps following standard installation protocols.
- Operate equipment in accordance with safety and operational procedures.
- Extend gas wells as needed, ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
- Fuse poly pipe using correct fusion methods.
- Perform trenching operations safely and effectively.
- Navigate and work on sloped terrain around wells.
- Collect and record operational data from gas wells.
- Safely and correctly use hand and power tools.
- Troubleshoot and understand various field processes and equipment.
- Execute field maintenance tasks with a strong focus on safety.
- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
- Comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date field logs, databases, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Enjoys working outdoors.
- Does not mind getting dirty.
- Must be physically fit.
- No previous experience necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
- RNG/Landfill experience, construction/roofing experience, heavy equipment and/or tool handling experience is a plus.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Must clear Background Check and Drug test.
- The ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
- The ability to communicate effectively.
- The ability to be punctual, dependable and willing to work long hours if needed is required.
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- The ability to work weekdays and weekends.
- The ability to work overtime and respond to callouts during off hours.
- The ability to respond in a timely manner to any emergency.
Schedule:
- 10-hour shift, Monday through Friday | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Overtime may be required
- This position may also require on-call availability
