Capitol Engineering was established in 1937 and we are currently growing at a rapid pace and are looking to add a evening shift fabrication foreman to our team.
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Foreman to join our dynamic team. This position is an evening shift with standard hours beginning at 1pm and ending at 10pm, Monday-Friday with occasional overtime and weekends required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication and be proficient in various welding techniques and the use of power tools. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Foreman plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our crew, quality of the final product, and production planning for producing high-quality components that meet our clients' specifications.
Duties
- Conduct pre-shift safety meetings and enforce safety protocols.
- Handle on-shift HR issues/ coordinate with HR on employee related issues.
- Direct and coordinate daily tasks for shop employees
- Monitor work quality and productivity to ensure deadlines are met
- Communicate with other shifts and departments for smooth transitions
- Follow blueprints and technical drawings to complete fabrication projects according to specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience in metal fabrication or a related field.
- Proficiency in welding techniques, FCAW-G, SMAW, MIG, and TIG.
- Familiarity with ASME and AISC D1.1 and D1.8 codes.
- Strong mathematical skills for precise measurements and calculations.
- Ability to read, interpret, and explain technical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience with load calculations and crane rigging.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
