About the Role: The SEC Reporting Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing portions of the external financial statements filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) within Form 10-Qs and Form 10-Ks, in addition to preparing additional filings under Form 8-K. This role works with the Corporate Assistant Controller to ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations and will work closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
As SEC Reporting Senior Accountant, you will report directly to the Corporate Assistant Controller. This role is pivotal in driving timely and accurate financial reporting for Aviat Networks.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare SEC filings (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K), including drafting financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A, and coordinate with cross-functional teams on other various filings (Proxy, Form 3s, Form 4s, etc.)
- Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits to provide tie-out support packages and support for internal controls over financial reporting
- Work with the Accounting Policy & SOX Manager to monitor changes in FASB standards and SEC regulations to assess the impact on the Company’s external financial reporting
- Work to develop, drive, and maintain processes for external reporting
- Prepare financial reporting packages for management and the audit committee
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements, including completion, evidence of review, and retention of documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., treasury, investor relations, legal, FP&A, and HR) to gather and analyze financial data for financial reporting purposes
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Minimum 3-6 years’ experience, including public accounting and/or external financial reporting for a publicly traded company
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting processes
- Experience with external reporting platforms (i.e., Wdesk)
- Must have working knowledge of standard office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,).
- CPA, or pursuing a CPA license
