Position Title: Dispensary Coordinator- Bilingual Spanish
Location: Hialeah, FL
Description: Position Summary
The Dispensary Coordinator (DC) is responsible for the daily operation of the center’s dispensary. The DC ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, company policies/procedures, and licensing requirements. Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for pharmacy/medications-related questions, responds to patient inquiries, fills prescriptions, manages inventory, prepares patient requests (vacation supplies, lost medications, prior authorizations), reviews pharmacy reports, ensures formulary compliance, processes OTC and DME orders, resolves grievances, and provides root cause analysis to the Dispensary Supervisor.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and external licensing/permit requirements (NCPDP, PBM, wholesaler, etc.)
Maintain current and up-to-date licenses/permits
Follow company policies, procedures, and requests
Process prescriptions; prescriber provides final check/verification
Dispense medication, explain usage, and ensure patient understanding
Process vacation supplies, lost medication, and prior authorization requests for HMO approval
Act as an extension of the company pharmacy program; collaborate with delivery pharmacies
Order all patient DME, fulfill billing/processing requirements, and provide patient education on use
Review HMO formularies and ensure generic utilization compliance with providers
Maintain inventory within budget and perpetual inventory of medications
Prepare required reports, including root cause analysis, for the Dispensary Supervisor
Resolve patient issues/grievances with empathy, confidentiality, and respect
Promote a positive, problem-solving environment
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Education
High School diploma or equivalent required
Valid Registered Pharmacy Technician license in Florida required
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a pharmacy technician (dispensary experience preferred)
Excellent computer knowledge; proficiency in Microsoft Office
Basic knowledge of electronic health record software (NextGen preferred)
Familiarity with pharmacy adjudication platforms
Fluency in Spanish and English preferred
Patient relations experience
Patience with elderly populations; sensitivity to hearing/vision deficiencies
Excellent listening, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Self-motivated, organized, with strong prioritization skills
Ability to work well under stress and in a fast-paced environment
