Under the direction of the licensed staff member, the Patient Care Technician gives routine, non-licensed, technical bedside care as a member of the Nursing Team. Staff may receive, secure, and transport medications as necessary.

- Assists in the coordination and implementation of individualized care for patients and families. Direct aspects of patient care to qualified unlicensed assistive personnel commensurate with abilities and level of preparation and consistent with legal and regulatory framework.
- Patients are escorted from reception area and assistance provided with dressing and undressing. Complete set of vitals obtained and comfort and safety is provided. Warm blankets offered and patient privacy is maintained.
- Assists in room set up. Helps move/transport patients. Assists with patient prepping.
- Under the direction of the RN transports patients to other patient care areas
- Patients are identified per guidelines and patient care interventions are provided under the direction of the RN/LPN. Accurately obtains and documents patient assessments according to hospital/ department guidelines.
