Maintenance Mechanic
The Plant Operations department at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) seeks an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to enhance our skilled team. Our state-of-the-art facility relies on a dedicated workforce that provides a variety of general, mechanical, and preventive maintenance as well as inspections and servicing of the hospital buildings and grounds.
What you’ll do day to day:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues; perform maintenance, repairs, or parts replacements as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of mechanical rooms to ensure optimal operation of HVAC systems and medical support equipment.
- Carry out general building maintenance and repair tasks across hospital facilities, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Perform winter grounds maintenance, including snow removal and ice control, using appropriate equipment.
- Assist in moving heavy furniture and equipment as required for maintenance tasks.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least five years of experience in construction, maintenance, or manufacturing
- Valid driver’s license and experience operating a plow truck
