Retail CookThis position is responsible for preparation of the retail foods and special functions at GVMH and ensures items are mise en place. This position is responsible to prepare meals according to approved recipes and in correct amounts using batch cookery to minimize waste and creatively uses leftovers and ensures food freshness. This position assists in the café as needed and is responsible to keep café staff informed of foods prepared. This position needs to be familiar with all menu items offered and equipment in the café areas, deli, grill, fryer, grab ‘n go, hot line, salad bar, merchandisers, vending, etc. and pricing. As part of café team may provide cash handling and perform register transactions. Assists with retail merchandising, up-selling, proper sanitation, and other duties as necessary to provide quality food and quality service at a “10” level. Attends huddles and tastings held daily. Keeps a noticeable presence in café during meal periods. This position prepares and sets up special functions/catering (hot foods, snacks, etc) as needed. This position needs to maintain a friendly and cheerful demeanor at all times while on duty.
Required:
High school diploma or GED
Three months to one year of food service experience
Henry County Food Handlers card
Starting Range: $15.80 - $17.38
