About HyperFi
We're building the kind of platform we always wanted to use: fast, flexible, and built for making sense of real-world complexity. Behind the scenes is a robust, event-driven architecture that connects systems, abstracts messy workflows, and leaves room for smart automation. The surface is clean and simple. The interactions are seamless and intuitive. The machinery underneath is anything but. That's where you come in.
We're a well-networked founding team with strong execution roots and a clear roadmap. We're backed, focused, and delivering fast.
We're looking for a QA Automation Engineer (SDET) to join early. Someone who doesn't just write tests — but builds the framework, defines the bar, and helps the whole team move faster with confidence. You'll own test strategy across the stack, from UI to backend to load and security. If your instinct is to automate, observe, and break things early (on purpose), we want to work with you.
💥 What You'll Do
- Design and build a modern, scalable E2E testing framework across frontend and backend
- Automate flows that span UI, API, database, and background jobs
- Integrate with GitHub Actions for pre-merge and post-deploy validation
- Establish standards for regression testing, load testing, and security verifications
- Track test coverage, identify blind spots, and drive a zero-surprise launch process
- Work with engineers to embed testability and observability in everything we ship
- Champion a culture of testing early, breaking things before users do, and building with confidence from day one
🧰 Tech Stack (So Far)
- GitHub Actions (CI/CD)
- React frontend
- Python + REST/gRPC backend
- Postgres + async message queues
- Terraform, GCP, staging/prod environments
You'll shape much of this — we want strong opinions on tools and patterns.
✅ What We're Looking For
- 5–7 years of experience in QA automation or SDET roles
- Proven success building or scaling E2E frameworks in a modern web stack
- Experience integrating with CI/CD pipelines (ideally GitHub Actions)
- Strong comfort with test code and scripting — ideally in Python and JS
- Familiar with load/perf/security testing approaches and best practices
- Highly collaborative — you see test coverage as a team sport, not a silo
🔥 Bonus If You:
- Have shipped greenfield automation systems (not just maintained legacy ones)
- Have written internal tools for test orchestration or triage
- Are familiar with infrastructure as code and ephemeral environments
- Can show test dashboards, CLI tools, or incident retros you've led
📍 Location & Compensation
- Must be based in San Francisco, Las Vegas, or Tel Aviv
- Full-time role with competitive comp
- Flexible hours, async-friendly culture, engineering-led environment
