Job description:
The Opportunity
As our Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, detailed, and competitive bids for both residential and commercial roofing projects. This role requires deep knowledge of roofing systems, local building codes, and materials — plus the computer skills to leverage modern estimating software and digital tools.
What You'll Do
- Review project specifications, drawings, and scopes of work to prepare precise bids.
- Perform material take-offs, labor estimates, and cost breakdowns for both residential and commercial roofing projects.
- Ensure all estimates comply with local and state building codes.
- Collaborate with sales, project managers, and operations to confirm scope accuracy.
- Maintain and update pricing databases for labor, materials, and subcontractors.
- Analyze bids for accuracy and profitability while staying competitive in the market.
- Present estimates clearly and confidently to leadership and sales teams.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years estimating experience in construction, preferably roofing.
- Proven success preparing bids for both residential and commercial roofing projects.
- Strong knowledge of roofing materials, installation methods, and building codes.
- Highly computer literate — comfortable with estimating software and digital workflows.
- Detail-oriented with a zero-error mindset when it comes to numbers.
- Strong communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- A results-driven performer who thrives in a high-accountability culture.
