We are seeking a professional, organized and friendly individual to serve as our Recruitment Specialist. This position administers and oversees the effective and efficient recruitment and selection process for Support Services at Sensity and acts as a key point of contact on all recruitment related matters, including, but not limited to: recruitment planning, co-ordination and execution of key recruitment activities to ensure the most qualified applicants are available for a wide variety of positions to provide support and services to supported individuals.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide direction, consultation and guidance on recruitment strategy and recruitment-related inquiries to colleagues and hiring managers.
- Lead and participate in the recruitment process inclusive of writing job postings to attract the right caliber of talent, resume screening, scheduling and conducting interviews, proactively communicating with applicants to ensure information is shared in a timely fashion.
- Develops structured interview templates and pre-screening questions aligned with role specific competencies.
- Research, create, and participate, in annual job fair opportunities across the province, ensuring the organization has a presence at job fairs throughout Ontario.
- Research and recommend new ways to recruit staff (technology, social channels, sites, sourcing candidates, passive recruitment).
- Develop new, and maintain strong relationships with industry associations, job boards, schools, community contacts, applicants and job seekers.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements and develop effective recruitment strategies.
- Perform other duties, as required.
- This position has the potential to be remote.
Qualifications
- Community college diploma (or equivalent) in human resource management or a related field, or direct experience working in the Deaf/Blind sector is required.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Experience in full cycle recruitment and proven candidate sourcing within a high-volume environment.
- In-depth knowledge of recruitment best practices, including traditional strategies (e.g. job fairs) and social media sourcing.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills, with a strong client service orientation and relationship building skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Solid time management, record keeping, attention to detail and organizational skills.
- In-depth knowledge of MS Office Suite is preferred, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems is required.
- Working knowledge of socialservices or non-profitsector.
- Knowledge of the Employment Standards Act (ESA), particularly as it pertains to mandatory letter requirements and recruitment compliance.
Other:
- Employment is conditional upon receipt of a successful Criminal Record Police Check.
- French may be considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills for both verbally and written of the English language.
