Certified Ophthalmic Technician
To assist the ophthalmologist in eye examinations and outpatient surgical procedures; to perform moderately complex tests and evaluations and record results.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or its equivalent.
- Two years of college with courses in ophthalmic technology and/or the health science area is desirable, but not required.
- Certification at the Certified Ophthalmic Technician level, preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families and employees.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to establish priorities.
Required Length and Type of Experience:
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent customer interaction skills.
Required Licensure or Certification:
- Certification as an Ophthalmic Technician, prefererd.
