Echo Sonographer
Lake Regional Health System is looking for a licensed Echo Ultrasound Technician to perform echocardiograms to evaluate different aspects of the heart, such as chamber size, valve function, and blood flow. Key Job Responsibilities:
- Performs all requested sonographic examinations as ordered by the attending physician including transthoracic echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, stress tests, etc.
- Prepares preliminary reports and contacts referring physicians when required
- Coordinates with other staff to assure appropriate patient care is provided
- Address patient problems as they arise and make decisions to appropriately resolve the issue
- Organizes daily work schedule and performs related clerical duties as required
- Assume responsibility for the safety and well-being of all patients in the sonographic area
- Report equipment failure to the appropriate supervisor or staff member
- Provide in-service education team on requirements of sonographic procedures as requested by other members of the health care team
- Must be familiar with basic cardiac conditions in order to recognize and identify any abnormalities
- Review patient files, schedule appointments, explain procedures to patients and maintain equipment
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Annual influenzarequired.
- Active certification by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- RDCS strongly preferred
- Current compliance with required Continuing Medical Education (CME)
