APPRENTICE HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC

Ashcroft Terminal and the PSA Group are seeking an Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our growing team!
As the only private logistics terminal in Canada with CPKC & CN mainlines onsite, ATL is strategically located to help shippers, manufacturers, and producers prepare their commodities for export or import. As a member of PSA International, Ashcroft Terminal is part of a global network of supply chain professionals!
In the position of Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic,the successful candidate will assist in the maintenance, repair, and inspection of heavy equipment and machinery, while learning industry best practices under the supervision of certified mechanics.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Performing preventive maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and engine tune-ups.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical malfunctions on heavy equipment.
- Conducting inspections and operational tests to ensure proper functionality.
- Maintaining shop equipment and managing inventory supplies.
- Following safety procedures and keeping a clean, organized work environment.
- Assisting with general labour tasks and other duties as assigned.
For success in this role, you must have:
- Your Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Level 1.
- A valid BC Driver’s License.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment mechanics and diagnostic tools.
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- The ability to work safely, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively.
