Ashcroft Terminal and the PSA Group are seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our growing team!
As the only private logistics terminal in Canada with CPKC & CN mainlines onsite, ATL is strategically located to help shippers, manufacturers, and producers prepare their commodities for export or import. As a member of PSA International, Ashcroft Terminal is part of a global network of supply chain professionals!
In the position of Heavy Duty Mechanic,the successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of heavy equipment in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Performing preventative maintenance and repair work on a variety of equipment including trucks, forklifts, fuel transloaders, conveyors, container handlers, and construction equipment.
- Completing component repairs such as engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and hydraulics to manufacturer specifications.
- Conducting inspections and routine maintenance to identify and address potential issues before breakdowns occur.
- Keeping accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs for tracking equipment performance and reliability.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to apprentice mechanics as needed.
- Supporting general labour and site operations tasks when required.
- Adhering to all safety policies and procedures and promoting a strong safety culture.
For success in this role, you must have:
- Interprovincial Red Seal Certification as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician.
- A valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Familiarity with complex mechanical systems and the tools required to maintain them.
- The ability to troubleshoot using electronic diagnostic tools and perform detailed repairs.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in various weather conditions.
- A strong work ethic and commitment to safety and teamwork.
