Compensation: $21.00–$24.00 + $2.00/hour 2nd shift premium
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM
Overtime: Additional 1 hour at the end of shift or Friday 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM depending on staffing availability.
Training: 1st shift training required for approximately two months (4:30 AM – 3:00 PM)
Overtime may be required depending on business needs
CNC Machine Operator B Job Description:
The Numerical Control Machine Operator B is responsible for setting up and operating numerical control (NC) machines to cut, shape, or form metal parts according to precise specifications. This role requires technical machining skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow safety protocols and work instructions in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have 1+ year of experience with CNC setup and teardown, be able to perform measurement conversion math, and have the ability to stand and walk throughout the duration of the workday.
CNC Machine Operator B Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1+ year of related experience and/or training preferred.
- 1+ years of experience with CNC machine operations such as drilling, grinding, and milling
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Proficient with hand tools and mechanical operations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Solid math skills for accurate measurements and conversions.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Competent in translating instructions into CNC commands.
- Strong problem-solving skills for production-related issues.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in various units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Capable of metric-to-inch conversions.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
- Ability to address routine issues with standardized solutions.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid forklift operator’s license.
- Regularly required to stand and frequently to talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to walk.
- Frequently lift/move up to 10 lbs.; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Visual requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
