Position Responsibilities:
The Engineering Manager will lead and direct all engineering and research & development efforts, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals. This role will involve oversight of new product designs, continuous improvement initiatives, and technical support for sales and manufacturing operations.
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional engineering team, providing daily direction and feedback.
- Oversee product development, electrical and mechanical design, and drafting.
- Drive R&D initiatives, addressing customer concerns and identifying product improvement opportunities.
- Define and execute departmental goals in coordination with executive leadership.
- Ensure efficient, safe, and quality-driven product designs.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to provide technical input during negotiations.
- Improve design and manufacturing processes to boost safety, reduce cost, and enhance product value.
- Keep engineering systems and design tools current and forward-looking.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics for continuous improvement.
- Manage department budgets and ensure cost-effective operations.
- Establish and enforce design, safety, and quality standards.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
Position requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 10 years of engineering experience, preferably in electric motors or generators.
- Minimum 5 years of engineering or R&D leadership experience in a relevant industry.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 documentation standards.
- Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of lean principles and process improvement methodologies.
- Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to drive results and influence across teams.
- Capable of managing complex projects and balancing multiple priorities.
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally navigate ladders or multiple flights of stairs.
Preferred Requirements:
- Master's degree in Engineering.
- Experience working in highly technical, specialized design environments.
- Strong presentation skills and experience communicating with all levels of management.

The pay range for this role is:120,000 - 150,000 USD per year(Minneapolis, Minnesota)
