The Senior Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for the completion of many administrative and analytical tasks that help to monitor and maintain the financial health of the business. This position will work closely with the Director of Finance to ensure accuracy and efficiency throughout the department. This role will support employees in charge of accounts receivable and accounts payable; will oversee the month-end closing process; and will provide regular timely reports to the Director of Finance, CFO and Company leadership. This role will interface with internal stakeholders within Purchasing, Business Development, Technologies and Operations to develop and maintain key business processes; and will also require regular contact with external auditors and management of external audit processes. The Senior Staff Accountant is a key contributor to developing synergies with internal business partners and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the company’s financial status
- Produces and manages balance sheets and analyzes future earnings and expenses
- Assists with management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the organization
- Assists with preparations for, and hosting, audits
- Works to identify and reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances
- Ensures compliance and prepares reports according to applicable government regulations
- Uses SAP accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports
- Delegates accounting tasks to junior accounting staff with provided training and mentorship
- Coordinates with and prepares reports for CFO and Director of Finance
- Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies
- Contributes to overall department goals by accomplishing accounting tasks as needed
- Responsibilities may increase in scope to align with company initiatives
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skills

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of proven accounting experience, including overseeing budgets and expenses and developing internal processes
- SAP Concur software integration experience preferred
- CPA certification desired
- Experience with management/cost accounting advantageous
Physical Requirement
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
- Adheres to consistent and predictable in-person attendance
