Physical Therapy Aide- Wheelchair Clinic

Position Summary:
The Physical Therapy Aide will assist the wheelchair clinic therapists in the performance of therapy treatments. Responsible for supporting day-to-day functions and processes operating within the Craig Hospital Wheelchair Clinic.
Position Requirements:
- Licensure/Certification/Registrations: Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association required.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: None required.
- Skills & Abilities: Ability to compile data, analyze data, and make decisions that support department and hospital objectives. Excellent organization and customer service skills. Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities and prioritize and schedule accordingly while meeting established deadlines. Must be able to successfully and effectively communicate with a variety of personnel. Ability to determine or interpret work procedures for a group of workers, assigning specific duties to them, maintaining harmonious relations among them and promoting efficiency. Advanced team-building, conflict resolution, and communication skills, both verbal and written are required. Able to maintain a high degree of accuracy, dependability, and strong attention to detail both mechanically and technically. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position. Possess above average problem-solving skills, judgment, and flexibility.
Essential Functions:
- Assist the therapists in performing treatments to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as instructed by the therapists.
Clean mats, equipment, and wheelchair clinic treatment areas after sessions to promote compliance with Infection Control standards.
- Assist therapists with obtaining, retrieving or delivering equipment to/from patients or primary therapists.
Maintain equipment organization, inventories, and scheduling of equipment.
- Assist with identification of equipment that requires repair or replacement and report to the Wheelchair Clinic Supervisor.
- Assist with maintenance and organization of the donated storage room and equipment.
- Communicate daily with the therapists regarding issues relating to the interaction with the patients.
- Process paperwork daily as instructed.
- Assist in department housekeeping duties, equipment and supply cleaning and maintenance.
- Perform delegated duties as outlined by therapists and wheelchair clinic supervisor.
- All personnel will use hand hygiene upon entering and leaving a patient's room; before and after individual patient care procedures, before and after group patient activity, after hands are contaminated with any body fluids, secretions, or excretions.
- All Craig staff will take responsibility to inform patients, family, and visitors of the importance of hand hygiene in the healthcare and community environment.

Pay Range: $18.65/ Hour - $26.86/ Hour
