Payroll Associate-Nursing
Position Summary
Assists supervisor in various aspects of payroll function. Reviews, calculates and prepares biweekly time sheets. Reviews all employee file changes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:
- Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
- Completes biweekly payroll time sheets by extending hours worked for each employee and totaling hours by employee and department.
- Position requires 4 hours bi-weekly to assist the Payroll Department in keying in the time sheets for Patient Care Services
- Reviews data input of time sheets for accuracy
- Consistently adheres to Hospital and Union pay practices when calculating payroll.
- Assists the Senior Clinical Coordinator in the processing of various documents, i.e. employee access requests, employee access termination form, employee change forms.
- Management of Kronos Optilink scheduling system for the Float Pool i.e. schedules, access, terminations
- Acts as a liaison between the Float Pool staff and the Clinical Coordinators/Directors of Nursing
- Adheres to WPH policies and procedures including dress code, code of conduct, customer service, attendance, submission of annual competencies, and annual physical requirement.
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Daily maintenance of the department’s shared drive and file system
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior healthcare experience desirable.
- Payroll and Staffing experience preferred
- Excel

Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment
- May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
- Must be able to type 50 to 70 wpm
- The position operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as phones, computers, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines located at multiple locations within the building.
- Ability to concentrate for extended periods.
- Ability to follow supervisors’ instructions.
- Ability to respond to requests from other departments or outside agencies.
- Ability to direct and supervise activities of other employees and volunteers.

Salary Range: $46,098.98-$69,148.76 (Ranges based on Full Time Hours)
