Education

Must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Must hold a valid and active license in good standing as an RN in the state of Arkansas. Completion of an accredited nursing program. At least one year of supervisory experience. Must be ACLS, PALS, NIHSS and CPR Certified. Strong knowledge of nursing principals, practices and procedures. Compassionate, patient-centered approach

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position can be fully met. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, patients, personnel, and support agencies. Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which include a drug testing and /or specific vaccinations as related to your job. (i.e. HEP B, Flu, COVID screenings, TB Testing etc.) Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility..

JOB SUMMARY

The Emergency Department Director is directly responsible for supervision of the nursing unit and provision of patient care. Duties include: development of technical policies, execution of technical procedures, technical supervision of personnel, supervise the care and maintenance of equipment, implementation of infection prevention and quality control measures, participate in the facility performance improvement program, compliance with national and local safety standards, maintenance of administrative records, participation in education programs, and participation in personnel functions (hiring, counseling, evaluating and terminating) within the department.
