This position requires the supervisor to walk, stand, kneel, crouch, stoop, bend, lift, and carry items for the majority of the scheduled shift.
The supervisor is responsible for a variety of tasks within the department including:
• Responsible for the daily operation of the Cafeteria, Coffee Shops, and Patient Room Service Program.
• Supervises and closes down the Department and insures overnight staff arrives.
• Delegates tasks and manages schedules in the event limited staffing in all areas of the department. • Schedules staff while remaining flexible enough to work with around a variety of scheduling conflicts.
• Evaluates staff on a regular basis and provide feedback for growth and development.
• Monitors practices within the department and implement changes that impact the perception and quality of the meals served.
• Interviews, hires, and trains new staff members.
• Frequently makes contact with patients within their rooms under a variety of treatments.
• Coaches and leads staff on following the policies and procedures of the department.
• Reconciles money from daily sales.
• Navigates phone calls throughout the shift, and takes appropriate action.
The Supervisor must also have the following skills:
• Must be able to work with a variety of software and technology devices.
• Must have the ability to handle sensitive situations with staff and navigate appropriate action independently.
• Must be able to perform multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Must be able to supervise a diverse staff with varying levels of independence.
•Must be friendly and adaptable to a changing environment on a daily basis.
