Description:
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Primary Therapist to join our clinical team. This role is essential in providing direct therapeutic care and guiding patients through their recovery journey. The Primary Therapist will work closely with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver individualized treatment and ensure quality clinical care.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual therapy sessions 2–3 times per week for assigned caseload.
- Facilitate 6–9 therapy groups weekly and develop group curriculum.
- Conduct family therapy sessions and maintain regular family communication.
- Complete chemical dependency and biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and progress documentation.
- Respond to crises with effective de-escalation strategies.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary treatment plan reviews, demonstrating sound clinical judgment.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records in compliance with program, licensing, and accreditation standards.
- Contribute to program quality improvement and attend required trainings and supervision.
- Maintain healthy boundaries, professionalism, and effective communication with patients, families, and staff.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work, Psychology, or related Human Services field.
- Licensed or license-eligible in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, and/or Certified Addiction Professional (as applicable in state).
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in the substance abuse and/or mental health field.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission standards, state/federal confidentiality laws, workplace violence policies, and drug-free workplace standards.
- Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
