About the role
Vermeer Southeast is currently seeking an experienced Service Manager to organize and coordinate the operations of the service department by leading a team that provides exceptional customer experience and ensures successful selling of all available service hours.
What you'll do
People Leadership and Development
- Attract, select, and develop high caliber talent from within or outside the business.
- Ensure that employees are available for key positions by anticipating and planning for the future staffing needs.
- Effectively manages staff through active performance management and implementation of a meaningful development process.
- Ensure complete utilization of all available staff training tools.
- Build a strong team which fosters collaboration and open communication through an inclusive environment.
Customer Satisfaction
- Interact with all contacts in a caring, professional, courteous, and timely manner.
- Build and maintain customer relationships.
- Provide needed service solutions that address customer concerns and enhance customer experience.
- Ensure quotes for service and costs to internal and external customers are completed promptly.
- May load and unload equipment.
Marketing/Sales
- Lead a team that markets Vermeer products and services by soliciting customers through applicable sales strategies.
- Call on potential and existing customers for the purpose of increasing customer base, maintaining current customers and increasing sales.
Department Management
- Analyze existing shop time and space, customer demand and market share trends to maximize department's full profit potential.
- Coordinate and ensure needed services are completed on time.
- Keep current on knowledge of service bulletins and equipment updates.
- Keep updated on service warranty issues, files and tracks claims and ensures proper credit is given to dealership.
- Provide necessary weekly and monthly department reports.
- Ensure necessary shop supplies are on hand.
- Ensure shop facility and equipment yard is well maintained, clean, safe, and secured.
- Ensure department safety standards and documentation is maintained.
Qualifications
- Graduation from high school, GED equivalent, or equivalent in-service operations and labor selling at the management level. College degree a plus.
- One (1) year leadership experience with demonstrated communication and leadership skills.
- Previous Industry experience.
- Ability to clearly communicate as well as understand read and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to multi-task and be detailed orientated with demonstrated follow through and organizational skills.
