Position Summary:
Responsible for the receipt, storage and distribution of all materials and equipment delivered to the Supply Chain Department. Responsible for the verification and accuracy of all receipts. Handles the refusal of damaged merchandise. Responsible for preparation and tracking of all outbound shipments. Performs courier duties as needed.
Position Requirements:
Formal Education / Training:
High School Graduate or equivalent experience.
Workplace Experience:
At least one year of experience in receiving position, preferably in a healthcare environment.
Ability to work at a fast pace and maintain a high level of accuracy.
Equipment and Skills Training:
Ability to use computers to perform shipping, inventory and receiving process, required
Ability to use various forms of office and warehouse equipment (To include: pallet jacks dollies, dock levelers, pressure washer)
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
Good mathematical skills.
Valid Tennessee driver's license; must be insurable.

Physical Effort:
Required the following abilities to stand all day, able to stoop, move, lift and carry heavy packages and equipment up to and exceeding one hundred (100) pounds. Extensive walking required delivering supplies and equipment throughout the Medical Center and offsite facilities. Subject to frequent interruptions. Requires ability to manipulate equipment such as loaded pallet jacks. Must be able to load and unload trucks, place dock level in place, and use loaded two wheelers.
Key Results:
Check and verify all packages and weights against the carrier’s bill of lading. Observe and record the condition of packing or other evidence of rough handling. With the carrier’s representative present, quantify acceptance accordingly on the bill of lading.
Mark or stamp all copies of the bill of lading with the date and stamp reading “Merchandise Received Subject to Inspection and Approval. Stamping the bill of lading with this type of statement protects the hospital in case of hidden damage to the contents within the package or carton. Sign bill of lading with full name and retain one copy for record purposes.
Verify all merchandise received against the packing slip and the receiving copy of the purchase order. The receiving copy of the purchase order will be the primary source document for determining the correctness of an item. Record discrepancies on the receiving report for action by the buyer. Notify appropriate buyer of discrepancies
Record receipt, either partial or complete on the receiving copy of the purchase order.
Deliver supplies/equipment to the designated department. Obtain the signature of the individual accepting delivery of the supplies. Non-stock orders are delivered daily.
Key all receipts into computer system daily.
Process copies of the receiving report to purchasing.
Assists Distribution staff with patient charge stickers and restocks shelves Re-stocks carts, shelving and/or other holding areas as needed after all receiving functions completed.
Maintains all areas of supply chain storage in a neat, clean and organized manner. Maintains all equipment utilized in transporting materials in a manner that ensures reliable and safe operation.
Performs all courier duties responsibly
Handles return of supplies, equipment and other materials to vendor for exchange, credit or repair.
Performs any duties as assigned by the Storeroom Manager.
