Fueling Brains collaboration with GCCISD will offer a CTE Program at our shared Warehouse space in Baytown, Texas.
The program will entail a Construction cohort and Education & Training cohort.
The children will come in groups of no more than 10 at a time for 1-1.5 hours at a time. Students are present at the factory Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Fueling Brains is seeking an exceptional CTE Teacher Assistant who is highly qualified and skillful to join our community. This is an exciting opportunity for teacher assistants who seek a challenging yet rewarding teaching experience.
Description of duties, responsibilities and Curricular linkages:
The duties of the teacher assistant encompass a broad spectrum and include but are not limited to the following:
1. Support CTE instructional activities in the shop with safety as the highest priority.
2. Participate in daily and. long-range lesson and classroom activity planning with Lead Technician.
3. Conduct learning exercises with small groups of students.
4. Guide students in developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
5. Assist with supervision of students in the shop and common areas.
6. Assist with the maintenance of program equipment and supplies.
7. With Lead Technician supervision, give students feedback on skill development and task performance.
8. Assist Lead Technician to meet the many personal and physical meeds of the child.
9. Under the Lead Technician's supervision, participate in discipline procedures and prescribe consequences for student behavior.
10. Serve as the chief source of information for the program between FB and GCCISD.
11. Meet regularly (every 6 weeks) with GCCISD to gain and give feedback on the program as guided by the Leadership Team.
12. Perform additional duties in collaboration with the shop as requested.
13. Maintain accurate and complete records as required by leadership and team collaboration
14. Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce concepts and review lessons.
15. Helps students use and apply vocational knowledge, skills, tools, processes, and equipment safely and correctly.
16. Aids students with special needs and learning disabilities to help them succeed.
17. Encourages students to develop positive relationships with peers and adults.
18. Ability to work as part of a team with a diverse group of students and colleagues.
19. A calm and positive demeanor, with the ability to remain focused amidst interruptions.

Education Training and Experience
Education Requirements - Associates degree, or 32 college credits
Must have the following:
-Experience working with High School Students
-Deep understanding of OSHA Regulations
-Clear background check-Valid Drivers License
-Ability to work with children and be patient, understanding, and effective in meeting their needs
-Ability to speak, write, and read in English-Experience working in Warehouse/Factory/Construction setting is a plus
