POSITION SUMMARY
- The Quality Assurance Educator facilitates departmental coding audits to ensure quality completeness and accuracy of coding. Serves as a coding subject matter expert for staff. Develops and implements a coding training program as well as an internal and external audit plan. Develops and coordinates educational training programs to improve productivity and accuracy based on audit findings.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Education
  - Highschool Diploma or GED
  - Associate’s degree in Health Information Technology
- Minimum Experience
  - 5+ years of experience with extensive knowledge ICD10CM, ICD10, PCS, and CPT-4
- Required Registration/License/Certification
  - CCS, RHIT or RHIA
- Preferred Education
  - BS in Health Information Administration
- Preferred Experience
  - N/A
- Preferred Registration/License/Certification
  - Dual certification of RHIA/RHIT and CCS
- Other Requirements
  - Extensive knowledge ICD10CM, ICD10, PCS, and CPT-4
  - Maintain an understanding of the NCCI, DRG/APC payment classifications.
  - Must be knowledgeable about Medicare and other governmental regulations
  - Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills required
  - Demonstrated proficiency in PC use, Microsoft applications and working knowledge of 3M and Cerner
