Education

A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, preferably with a major in psychology. Passing grades in college courses in abnormal psychology, personality, psychological statistics, and psychological testing/tests and measurement. “Psychological Testing” means, at a minimum, a course in Psychological Test and Measurement. A course in Individual Tests of Intelligence taught in an accredited undergraduate program is also acceptable. A “passing grade” means a “C” in a letter grading system; a “Pass” in a pass/fail system; or “Satisfactory” in a satisfactory/unsatisfactory grading system. Technicians who have completed degrees with nonpsychology majors must have completed passing grades in the coursework specified above. In addition to formal university or college-based preparation, a technician shall demonstrate training and instruction in the numerous areas that pertain to his or her role as a technician as established by the Arkansas Psychology Board.

At least 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting, particularly with neuropsychological assessments, is preferred.

JOB SUMMARY

Provides support to the supervising licensed neuropsychologist by performing neuropsychological testing in the form of administration and scoring of standardized objective tests. The Neuropsychology Technician will assist with research activities related to brain function and cognitive disorders. This role requires a strong understanding of neuropsychological testing protocols, patient interaction, and data management while adhering to the ethical guidelines and professional standards outlined by the Arkansas Department of Health and other relevant regulatory bodies.
