Summary
The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager will maintain a safe environment for employees, staff, patients, and visitors, including identifying and mitigating risks, developing safety programs, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The EH&S Manager is responsible for the management of the Environment of Care (EOC) and Life Safety (LS) plans for St. Clair Hospital and affiliated off-site clinics. The EH&S Manager further serves as the Safey and Emergency Management Operations Officer, and an expert leader in optimizing physical and environmental safety compliance within the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Safety/Safety Management, Engineering and/or Industrial Hygiene, Healthcare Administration or related degree.
- Five years of Hospital experience that includes extensive knowledge and understanding of Joint Commission EOC and Life Safety standards and requirements.
- Knowledge of hospital Life Safety equipment, utilities, and operation.
- Knowledge of personal computer operation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion or attainment of one of the following:
- Current Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Current Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) certification.
- OSHA Safety & Health Fundamentals Certificate
