Registered Nurse Coordinator - Cardiac Services:
Under the supervision of the manager of Cardiac Services, the Coordinator will supervise the daily operations of Cardiac Services. Assists with departmental management responsibilities including, but not limited to, payroll, budgets, equipment purchasing, maintenance and repair, performance improvement, recruiting, retention, counseling and discipline, inventory, patient scheduling and employee shift scheduling.

Minimum Requirements:
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer; or
- Associate Degree: Nursing
situations, or situations in which work speed and sustained attention are a make or break aspect of the job.
- 2 years related experience required in Cardiac Services area.
- Registered as a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or registry eligible; or
- Licensure to be eligible to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin.
- ACLS certification preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in arrhythmia recognition and EKG course.
- Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.

- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and clerical function related to scheduling, order entry, record keeping and interaction with patients.
- Ability to read, write, hear, and speak the English language fluently.
- The physical, technical and cognitive ability as well as the manual dexterity, to use patient care equipment.
- Demonstrate knowledge in the anatomy and physiology of the heart.
- Ability to perform under stress when confronted with emergency, critical, unusual or dangerous
- Demonstrates communication and leadership skills by collaborating with and giving direction to members of the health care team to achieve positive patient outcomes within established timeframes.
- Ability to confirm effective orientation, teaching and precepting of staff in technical skills and ensure completion of competency assessments.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the interpretation of EKG rhythms and dysrhythmias.
- Participates in activities associated with quality assurance, performance improvement, database recording and reporting, maintaining compliance with all associated accreditation programs including but not limited to the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiogram Laboratories (ICAEL) and others when added.
- Ensures all charges are entered after every procedure, including those performed after normal business hours.
- Recognizes the occurrence of life-threatening situations and emergencies and takes the appropriate actions in a timely manner.
- Supports department and System policies and procedures.
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining department inventory.
- Recognizes equipment malfunctions, schedules and monitors repairs and regular maintenance.
- Staffs department as needed.
- Assists the Director with performance evaluations, provides counseling, and assist in disciplinary actions for employees under direct supervision.
- Receives and records verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners for orders that are specific to the services provided by their department.
- Fosters departmental teamwork and positive working relationships with employee's and physicians.
- Ensures patient education is provided in a clear, concise and meaningful way.
- Positive communication skills, ability to successfully interact with all customers and staff, continuous demonstration of courteous, cooperative and service oriented manner.
