BL101 began as an Instagram account started by a baseball obsessed teenager on his couch that started a community and has grown into something bigger than he ever could've imagined.
Today, Baseball Lifestyle has over 200 employees, retail locations in malls and tournament complexes, and can be found in various sporting goods stores around the country, like Dick's Sporting Goods, Scheels, and Academy. The community built at BL101 has grown with the company's success and the mission to grow the love of baseball stands true every day.
The journey at Baseball Lifestyle has brought our brand around the country to some of the biggest venues has to offer, and we will continue to spread our love of baseball and our brand to not just baseball fans, but everyone that is looking for the best off-field apparel the industry has to offer.
About the role
- The Junior Designer will work collaboratively with our design and product teams to create apparel that resonates with our target audience; helping to translate market trends into designs that balance creativity with commercial viability, supporting all aspects of the design process from concept to production.
What you'll do
- Lay out graphic illustrations and artwork on clothing templates (e.g., t-shirts, hoodies, outerwear) using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Collaborate with senior designers and graphic artists to ensure artwork placement and sizing meets design intent.
- Assist in creating and updating tech packs including detailed specifications, measurements, callouts, trims, and artwork placements.
- Assist with mockups and presentation boards for internal and client reviews.
- Maintain organization of digital files, sample records, and asset libraries.
- Stay current on market trends, graphics, and garment construction techniques.
- Contribute to quality and brand integrity standards
Qualifications
- 1 - 3 years of relevant experience apparel design, preferably in sports, athletic, or youth-oriented brands, preferred
- Proficiency with design software (Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop)
- Strong understanding of apparel construction, materials, and production processes
- Experience with color theory and color management systems
- Knowledge of current market trends in youth apparel and sports fashion
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred
- Portfolio demonstrating relevant design work required
