Position Summary
The Progressive Mobility Specialist is a trained healthcare associate who ensures safe and effective patient mobility in an acute care setting. Working under the supervision of the Clinical Manager or designee, this role supports the hospital's progressive mobility goals by assisting with patient transfers, movement, and education on mobility techniques using approved devices and protocols.
Key Responsibilities

Assist patients with mobility tasks such as transfers, turning, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices (e.g., gait belts, lifts).

Demonstrate and instruct staff in proper techniques for patient mobility and equipment usage.

Collaborate with nursing and rehabilitation staff to support patient care and movement plans.

Support basic patient care needs during mobility tasks (e.g., toileting, hygiene, meal setup).

Document and track mobility activities and quality metrics.

Maintain clean and organized work areas and manage mobility equipment inventory.

Contribute to performance improvement efforts and departmental goals.
Organizational Expectations

Attend required meetings and complete all mandatory training and health requirements on time.

Maintain current CPR (BCLS) certification and any other required credentials.

Physical & Working Conditions

Requires physical strength and endurance: frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 35 lbs unassisted), pushing, and patient repositioning.

Must be flexible with shifts and available for overtime as needed.
