Who You Are:
We are seeking a candidate who has a strong and positive attitude toward service to join our hospice team as a Chaplain. This individual will provide compassionate spiritual and emotional care to patients and families in the Hospice care.

Responsibilities:
- Conducts a spiritual assessment as part of the comprehensive assessment within five (5) days of admission to the hospice program.
- Assists in developing and implementing the interdisciplinary patient care plan for spiritual care.
- Confirms weekly, the scheduling of visits with the patients’ Case Managers to facilitate coordination of other staff visits.
- Participates in IDG and QAPI meetings and activities.
- Conducts religious services of prayer, worship, and rituals for patients/families, as appropriate.
- Assumes responsibility for self-development by continually striving to improve his/her Spiritual practice through formal education, workshops and conferences, active participation in professional and related organizational meetings, and/or individual research and reading.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.

Job Requirements:
- B.A., M.A., or M.Div. (or proven ministry experience) and denominational ordination.
- Trained or experienced in common spiritual issues in death and dying, belief
- Spiritual assessment skills, individualizing care to patient beliefs or spiritual practices/rituals.
- Ability to communicate core beliefs of the Christian faith and the fact that the Bible is the inerrant guide to all Christian faith and practice.
- Ability to interrelate with patients, family members, and staff.
- Comfortable in an interfaith setting and accepting different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
- Counsel the bereaved and encourage spiritual participation.
- Mentally and emotionally fit to minister to people with physical, mental, emotional, and relational problems.
- The ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision and be a strong team player.
