Assistant Director, Radiology

Position Summary
The Assistant Director works alongside the Director to oversee the overall operations of Radiology and its off-site locations. Including, but not limited to: the development of departmental goals and objectives consistent with the overall practice and strategic plan, the management of personnel, preparing/monitoring, and accountability for departmental budget(s). The Radiology Assistant Director assures high-quality clinical services by following established practice and regulatory/accreditation agency standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:
- Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors
- Takes part in managing, directing, and overseeing all administrative, technical, and operations of all Radiology practices and daily functions.
- Represents the department and interacts with radiologists, imaging center administrative and technical personnel, practice administrative personnel, referring physician’s offices, patients, regulatory agencies, equipment vendors, insurance agents, billing companies, and other professional and community groups.
- Monitor and amend the employee and physician schedules as needed throughout the month, assuring coverage and notification to all affected.
5. Participates in maintaining all payroll records, timekeeping, and OT utilization. Registers and monitors employees in ADP time clock software.
6. Helps prepare and distribute the following monthly reports, expense reports, Billing collection report, A/R reports, and staff productivity reports
7. Duties and hours may change according to the department’s needs or practice.
8. May be required to work holidays, overtime, and day, evening, and overnight shift coverage to help
maintain adequate and safe coverage for the outpatient facility.
9. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
10. Assists with ACR modality accreditations and DOH inspections.
11. Participates in departmental initiatives around patient satisfaction.
12. Mentors Managers and maintains positive morale with direct reports and staff.
13. Performs annual and mid-year competencies and evaluations.
14. Manage expenses associated with staff, supplies, and equipment maintenance. Focusing on maximizing
efficiencies and cost savings.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience managing a multi-modality Radiology practice.
- ARRT Licensed RT

Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment:
- May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) database and accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS database can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.

Salary Range: $125,000—$188,000/YR
