A Brief Overview
Inventory, stock and maintain established par inventory locations throughout the hospital in accordance with current hospital polices and procedures and regulatory requirements.
What you will do
- Inventory, stock and maintain patient care par inventory supply locations in accordance with established par levels, procedures and policies. * Accurately count par supply locations in accordance with established par level/min-max quantities. * Identify stock outs, backorders and shortages of essential supplies and resolve as quickly as possible. * Cycle count inventory locations daily to minimize stock outs. * Analyze inventory trends and recommend par level changes as needed during spikes due to season or increase in patient census. * Clean automated supply dispensing cabinets inside and out as well as dust the bins and shelves at minimum monthly to maintain clean par level supply locations and supply integrity. * Organize and maintain proper documentation, logs and records relating to inventory control and record keeping. * Acts as liaison with hospital staff and the distribution vendor regarding product changes and backorder issues.
- Maintains par supply locations in accordance with current regulatory standards utilizing the approved par level supply checklist.
- Maintains safety and security procedures in accordance to hospital policies.
- Utilizes the Material Management Information System to input special purchase orders and retrieve item and departmental information in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Answers the phones and respond to customer pages in a courteous and timely manner in accordance with established performance standards.
- Assists with product conversions and recalls including but not limited to the pulling of affected supply lots in accordance with established policies.
- Provide stock transfer and patient charge information to the Distribution Inventory Specialists daily to assure data integrity, revenue stream and supply charge accuracy among departments.
- Interacts and works collaboratively with other departments and medical/hospital staff in accordance with established policies and procedures. Maintains positive working relationships and provides information and assistance as required.
- Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
- Shares responsibilities and provides coverage for relief and absences within Supply Distribution as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent Required
- Minimum 2 years experience of previous distribution or receiving experience in a healthcare environment Preferred
